Leadership

“If you build an army of 100 lions and their leader is a dog in an fight, the lions will die like a dog. But if you build an army of 100 dogs and their leader is a lion, the dogs will fight like lions”

Leadership is without question an art form.

It can be the difference between summiting or not.

Candour plays an important part for a leader to be able to perform, if you have truth, you have trust and if you have trust you are a long way down the line of leadership in my view.

So how is this all achieved, a common goal helps, a respect for each other’s abilities certainly helps.  A leader who is great at everything can often just be average at all things and fundamentally hold the whole organisation back.  Branson always speaks of surrounding yourself with people better than you, who can complement your abilities.  This a philosophy I have always used to good effect.

Poor leadership suffocates ability and what happens?  The talent leaves the room, the talent is lost to the detriment of the business.

True Leaders enjoy their team exceeding expectation, are open to ideas and the team in turn are comfortable on occasion even coming left of field, knowing their leader is capable of developing the good ideas further but always open to new thoughts.

So if you feel there is more to be achieved then there probably is why wait ? Get in touch and let’s summit a few peaks together.
