Looking after the front line

Sales, Units per Transaction (UPT), Average Transaction Value (ATV), Conversion, Mystery shopper, wage to sales, staff turnover etc.  Managers and area managers have lots of numbers to look at!

It has never been truer “look after the front line and the front line will look after the bottom line”.

I have always believed that if you can retain & support good staff and managers your on course to hitting targets.

I believe the key role of an area manager is to develop, coach, encourage and support store management. 

Yes they have to police certain elements making sure H&S, stock control, cash management policies are being followed.

However a good area manager trusts and empowers manager’s to do their job while providing real leadership and direction.
